Maggie is a designer maker based in Somerset. With a background in textile design Maggie has worked for many years teaching and supporting students with all aspects of digital textile design and laser cutting at Bath Spa University. Now working from her Shepton studio she uses a laser cutter to produce her popular range of birchwood flowers, paper cut cards, and seasonal decorations.
Designs are developed digitally from Maggie's drawings and photographs, and cut from sustainable and responsibly sourced materials - FSC Certified Birchwood, and Somerset Papers produced locally at the nearby St Cuthbert's Mill, City of Wells. Maggie can often be spotted out with her camera taking inspiration from the magnificent gardens of Hestercombe and she is delighted that sales of her work through the Hestercombe Gallery Shop are in some small way helping to support the evolution of this beautiful place.
Meet the Makers is free when paying standard garden admission (Hestercombe members go free).
