We are CLOSED
At last! The good weather is upon us, for now at least. So enjoy it whilst you can. And there were hundreds of you who did just this on Saturday at our Summer Fete which was a storming success and I can’t be too pleased that the sun shone for the day. b2ap3_thumbnail_sack-race.JPG b2ap3_thumbnail_Punch--Judy-2.JPG So here’s a few photos… Thank you to all involved, the event wouldn’t have been the same without: …our volunteers who ran the skittles, whack a rat and the infamous worm baiting… b2ap3_thumbnail_whack-a-rat.JPG b2ap3_thumbnail_Caitlyn.JPG …the staff from 1610 who put on some great family events in the main arena as well as supervising the bouncy-assualt-course and climbing wall… …the stallholders who brought in a touch of style as well as gave the fete that extra buzz and made the day a little more special… …pet’s corner, with Ollie White’s lambs (Farm 2 Fork) and Bryony’s family of chickens, which many of you might have seen at Easter, those beautiful hens are my new favourite! I am seriosuly considering getting my own flock! Here's their site: Moorland Poultry b2ap3_thumbnail_croquet.JPG …and of course the amazing catering team, Kevin on the BBQ (topping up his tan down by the Orangery!), the girls in the catering tent who didn’t stop all day, and the café which was busy from open will close…b2ap3_thumbnail_BBQ.JPG And I’ve not even got to all our entertainers! Especially pleased with Joe who bravely did several stand up comedy routines (and I think stole my one and only joke!) and Caitlyn who played some extraordinary piano pieces in the afternoon sun. It’s so great to have local talent involved and these two are some very special youngsters. The Taunton Croquet Club members were lovely to have along later in the afternoon and they are keen to get more members playing at their club near Taunton Vale sports club. Check their website to arrange a game. The traditional Punch & Judy show and of course Malcolm the Magician were also indispensable to a fun family day. This is definitely a fixture for the events calendar in the future so hopefully we can continue to build on what was just a great day. I hope you enjoyed it too, please do leave any comments on our facebook page or twitter (@HestercombeGdns) or Trip Advisor, we always like to know what you think.
